With the new Beta Test Explorer, you now have the option to build your own Self-Assess Tests using our new Item Bank.
To start, launch the Test Explorer by clicking on the “Test Explorer” icon in the left column of the home screen.
Once you are in the Test Explorer, click on the "+” icon in the top right corner of the screen and then click on "Create Test".
After that, the Create New Test window will pop up. From here, click on the new "Self-Assess" option.
Doing so will then launch our Test Creator. From here, click on the "+ ADD QUESTION” button at the top right of the window.
This will open the Item Bank instead of the usual Question Canvas.

10. Once you have at least one question selected, an action bar will appear at the bottom of the screen. This shows you the number of questions selected next to the ‘Save Changes’ button. The ‘x’ button on the far left allows you to deselect all items at once. The ‘Show only selected’ checkbox filters all items by only those you have currently selected. Once you are certain which questions you would like to add to your test, click on the “Save Changes” button on the far right of the bar. Note: the question content cannot be edited.
This will prompt you back to our Test Creator. As you can see, the questions we selected have been added to our test. From here, enter a test title, description, content area and grade level, then click on the “SAVE AND CLOSE” button to finish building your test. If you’d like to remove a question, click on the three dots icon on the thumbnail image. To add more questions, click the ‘ADD QUESTION’ button again to re-launch the item bank page.
Your test will now appear in the Test Dashboard.
Note: Any tests created through question bank in Self-Assess version will automatically have the Teacher-one-on-one version created as well; and you can test students using either version.
Don’t want to build the test from scratch? If you see an existing self-assess test you like, you can click ‘Copy Test’ on the modal to create your own copy and add questions using the Item Bank from there.
